The World Boxing International Federation has unveiled its inaugural rankings of the world’s top boxers, predominantly featuring athletes from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. 1bol.kz reports.
The rankings include 12 boxers from Uzbekistan (7 men, 5 women) and 11 from Kazakhstan (6 men, 5 women). Additionally:
- Turkey – 8 (7 men, 1 woman);
- Brazil – 7 (3 men, 4 women);
- China – 6 (4 men, 2 women);
- England, India, Japan – 5 each.
Kazakhstan tops the leaderboard overall, with seven boxers (4 men, 3 women) leading in their weight categories. Uzbekistan follows closely with six boxers (all men) at the top of their respective classes.
The overall rankings, independent of weight categories, showcase the following:
Among women, the title of the world’s top boxer is held by Poland’s Julia Sheremeta (57 kg) with 2075 points. She has excelled at the Olympics (2024), World Cup, and World Championship since the inception of the World Boxing organization.
From Kazakhstan, Nazym Kyzaibay (51 kg) achieved the best result, ranking fourth with 1750 points.
In the men’s category, Uzbekistan’s Abdumalik Khalokov (60 kg) and Asadhudja Muydinduzhaev (65 kg) are tied for first place, each amassing 3000 points. Both are champions of the Paris Olympics and the World Championship in Liverpool.
Aybek Oralbay (+90 kg) of Kazakhstan stands out with 2025 points, securing the fourth position. Sanjar Tashkenbay (50 kg) and Makhmud Sabyrkhan (55 kg) share the fifth spot, each with 1650 points.
It is notable that the points in the rankings are calculated based on the boxers’ performances in events organized by World Boxing.
