Hazardous Substances Found in Three Indian-Made Syrups
According to WHO, traces of diethylene glycol have been detected in the cough syrups COLDRIF, Respifresh TR, and ReLife, produced in India.
This is a toxic chemical compound that can lead to severe poisoning and acute kidney failure.
The mentioned products are manufactured by the following companies:
- Sresan Pharmaceuticals
- Rednex Remedies
- Shape Pharma
These Medicines Are Not Registered in Kazakhstan
The Medical and Pharmaceutical Control Committee of the Ministry stated that these syrups are not registered or brought into Kazakhstan.
«None of these medicines have been registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, nor have compliance certificates been issued,» the official statement said.
Ministry Urges Purchase from Licensed Pharmacies
The National Center for the Examination of Medicines and Medical Devices advised Kazakhstani citizens to buy medications only from official, licensed pharmacies.
«We advise citizens not to purchase medicines from dubious sources and to refrain from using these syrups,» said representatives of the center.
